What is the Pallet Design System?
The Pallet Design System (PDS) is a computer-aided design tool that helps you design the best pallet for any job at the lowest cost. By inputting all of the customer's pallet design alternatives and the materials needed to build the pallet, the program produces low-cost and accurate performance forecasts, identifies potential problem areas, and redirects the pallet supplier and user to more practical design alternatives – without costly trial and error or expensive prototyping and testing. PDS is effectively used to:
- Check adequacy of existing wood pallet design
- Improve efficiency of existing wood pallet
- Design replacement of new wooden pallet
PDS can impact the environment and the product. By increasing the quality of the pallet, it is possible to lower packaging costs in other areas. The better the pallet supports the product, the less packaging material is needed for the outside of your product. Less wood fiber being used in the beginning means less to dispose of on the other end of the shipment.
